Every international payment you send through Melio is protected by the same security infrastructure that covers all transactions on the platform. Your bank details are never shared with vendors, whether you’re paying someone locally or overseas. Melio holds a SOC 2 Type II certification, meaning an independent auditor reviews the company’s security controls each year. The platform also meets ISO/IEC 27001, the most rigorous global standard for information security management. All data is encrypted using AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, and multi-factor authentication protects your account from day one.
Melio offers competitive exchange rates when you pay in your vendor’s local currency. When entering the payment in foreign currency, you’ll see how much you need to pay in U.S. dollars, including the exchange rate.
The conversion rate is guaranteed for 30 minutes, meaning you might see different fees for the same transaction if you don’t reach the next step within 30 minutes.
When paying your global vendors in U.S. dollars, a $20 fee will apply. When paying by card, an additional fee applies.

Yes. You can make international payments using Mastercard or Visa. After choosing an international vendor to pay and selecting the vendor’s currency, choose a debit or credit card as your payment method. An additional card fee will be added to your total amount.
International payments in USD arrive in 4-6 business days and fast international payments in USD arrive in 1-3 business days.
Eligible international payments in local currencies arrive in 0-1 business day. Otherwise, they can take up to 3 business days.
