Differences in language should not be a barrier
Rosetta Languages has a beautiful mission. They aim to help people connect with one another, no matter which language they speak. Learn what kind of services they provide and what helped them succeed in their journey.
Danyal Najmi is the founder of Rosetta Languages, a translation and interpretation company based in the Boston area. The company’s mission is to change the way people view languages. They envision a world where difference in language is not a barrier to communication, but a valuable resource that enriches people through diversity in thoughts and ideas.
What kind of services do you provide?
From 8:30 AM our phone starts to ring. Community members call us to get help with housing, registering kids for school, questions about city resources, voting, employment, and more. We get calls in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, and Vietnamese, among other languages.
This ties into one of our key values – “Always Responsive.” We pride ourselves on quick and effective responses. Many of our requests are time-sensitive, and it’s imperative that we ensure community members’ needs are met promptly and efficiently.
We are a value-driven company, built on the four axioms of “Always Responsive, Always Awesome, Always Human, Always Accessible”.

What’s the driving force of your business?
Love. Providing for my family, creating great job opportunities in my community, providing awesome service to our customers, and creating a more multilingual world. Language can be a bridge that connects you to the world.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I aspire to be the most well-known and beloved language company in our state Massachusetts and be a leader in our field nationally. My own experience impressed upon me how languages have the power to build powerful connections.
I grew up speaking only English but embarked on an extraordinary journey of learning four additional languages: Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, and Hindi/Urdu. Each language venture had unique stories, fascinating places, and beautiful friendships. That profound passion for languages sets Rosetta Languages apart.

What advice would you give to your past self before opening your own business?
Start now! The only way to create a perfect business is to create an imperfect business and keep iterating and improving it.
Who inspired you?
The success of Rosetta Languages is thanks to the amazing team of interpreters and translators who work with me. My greatest mentors are my teammates, without them, Rosetta Languages would not exist as it is today.
