A unique books publishing company that helps addiction survivors to tell their story
Meet Megan Fleming. Together with her husband, she owns a publishing company that specializes in helping addiction survivors write their stories and turn them into inspiring novels. Read her story below.
Megan Fleming and her husband Adam had a life-changing opportunity when they took over Victory Vision Publishing, a publishing services company, on January 1, 2023. They had both worked for the company as editors and ghostwriters before the founder entrusted them to carry on her vision and transferred ownership to them.
They have a great team who helps trauma and addiction survivors write their stories and turn them into inspiring novels. They also help fiction and non-fiction authors write, polish, publish, and even market their stories.
How did you get into publishing books of addiction survivors?
Only a handful of years ago, Julie Ballard was unconscious from an overdose, on the street, and left to die. Unseen aids helped her literally get on her feet to walk to a recovery center, where she received healing. Through a series of supernatural events, she was led to write and self-publish her story. Others began to ask her to help them tell their stories, too, and soon Victory Vision, LLC, was born. Our founder, Julie, continues to inspire our team to call forth and cultivate survivors’ stories with sensitivity, encouragement, and highly professional publishing services.
What does your typical day look like?
My typical day starts with a check-in over coffee with my business partner (my husband) at our Midwestern home, after seeing our teenagers off to school. Adam either meets with his business coaching clients, does ghostwriting for our publishing clients, or works on our business operations, while I’m editing manuscripts and maintaining our CRM. Ideally, we take a nature trail walk together in the afternoon, go to one of our kids’ sports events in the evening, and then chill with a good book or TV series.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, Adam and I want to be able to run our business from anywhere, and visit our favorite spots and people in diverse places like Spain, Egypt, and Thailand. We dream of helping hundreds of survivors’ voices be heard and their stories to be a path to healing. We also want to help business owners get their innovative ideas into the marketplace and creative fiction authors find an outlet that lets them retain control over their manuscripts and profits.

What inspires you as a business owner?
The brave testimonies of our authors inspire me. Their commitment to letting their traumatic experiences see the light of day through their written words keeps us committed to finding new ways to offer our support.
This includes hosting a writers’ group where those who are in the process of writing get help setting goals and receive accountability and encouragement to reach their goals. Also, my parents ran their own agri-business my whole life, and they are a huge reason I chose the self-employed lifestyle. I saw how they worked hard, but also played hard, too. I admire how they worked as a team to serve their customers loyally, and I aspire to emulate their success.
